(AAPNW-TN) – When the Nashville Symphony returns to Schermerhorn Symphony Center this fall, it will be the start of a world-class gala of art in performance; a season that begins with a special appearance by Yo-Yo Ma on September 9, 2011 and spans through June 2, 2012 as it will conclude with a performance of Orff’s “Carmina Burana,” however in between the symphony skies will be illuminated with an extraordinary case of guest artists like, vocalists, Wynonna and Kathy Mattea, including banjoist Béla Fleck, electric violinist Tracy Silverman, trumpeter Chris Botti, guitarist Larry Carlton and the Cleveland Orchestra.
“The 2011/12 season is a celebration of the Nashville Symphony’s incredible strength, resilience and expanding national profile… We also are incredibly thankful for the support of this community, and I can’t think of a better way to express our appreciation than by offering a 
year’s worth of first-class musical excitement,” spoke CEO Alan Valentine.
Whether it is the Bank of America Pop Series, SunTrust Classical Series, Adams and Reese Jazz Series, Ann & Monroe Carell Family Trust for the Pied Piper Series, or even the new music that is produced and recorded by the Nashville Symphony, it is also a season that will be remembered for its historical comeback from the flood of May 2010 and how the residents of one city, embraced their neighbors during this time of loss, rolled up their own sleeves, and thusly by their self-reliance served not only as a beacon of paying forward, but also a mirror of another lady holding the torch of humanity.
