Abstract oil paintings flowing with organic shapes made of rich, soothing colors; Acrylic paintings stacked with multiple individual panels to create a complete single piece; and Sculpture of bold, colorful fiber board that mimic solid metal, both in appearance and the way they take command of the space by oil painter Megan Bell, sculptor Rory King and Spencer Silver are on show in the exhibition titled, “Dynamic Convergence” at the Bloomington, Minnesota Theatre and Art Center in the Inez Greenberg Gallery, which runs through October 3, 2014.
Bell is a self-taught oil painter finds inspiration in the colors and forms found in nature, from the smallest of organisms to the grandest of sea life, she often incorporates bits and pieces of this imagery into her abstract paintings.
King is primarily a self-taught artist, who developed a curiosity to learn and explore numerous artistic disciplines including drawing, painting and innovations in screen printing.
Silver primarily works in assembled mixed media paintings on canvas panels.
