TITLE: Asian Art and Culture Day, National Cherry Blossom Festival 2013

BRIEF ABOUT: 3rd annual National Cherry Blossom Festival event to feature demonstrations, performances, participatory workshops, presentations and exhibitions featuring Asian art and culture. Presenters include Japan-America Society of Washington DC, George Mason University, Workhouse Artists and Ikebana International. NOTE: All activities are free.

About: The Asian Art and Culture Day event is centered around the exhibition, Ephemeral: Interpretations of the Cherry Blossom, which is curated by Laurel Lukaszewki, artist and member of the National Cherry Blossom Festival Board of Directors, and artist Komelia Hongja Okim. The exhibition explores fleeting moments captured in art and celebrates the cherry blossom and Asian and American relations. The exhibition is on view through April 7 in the McGuireWoods Gallery. NOTE: An exhibition reception on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
