Masterworks of American Impressionism
BRIEF ABOUT: The exhibit will feature 55 pieces by well-known American Impressionists, including Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent and Childe Hassam. The works represent the golden age of the movement, from the 1880s to the 1940s, demonstrating an interest in capturing the effects of light in loosely brushed compositions. The exhibit is complemented by a local collection of portraits from painters affiliated with the Boston School, an artists’ colony centered around the Massachusetts city at the turn of the 20th century.
