Janet Hirshman Rash, who is Pfac’s art educator says, “The program helps students consider their relationship and responses to important aspects of visual arts by allowing them to discuss ideas, discover history, understand viewpoints different from their own, and immerse themselves in culture from around the World.”

Over 100 students from An Achievable Dream, Denbigh, Enterprise Academy, Heritage, Warwick and Woodside high schools created poetry to artworks in the Pfac exhibitions, “Treasures From the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts” and “Modern American Prints: Selections From The David and Susan Goode Collection.”

Awarding-winning poet Richardson is the author “Likeness of Being”, “You are the Subject”, poetry CD “Nathan Live at Langley” and others. He also coaches the 2011 Hampton Roads Youth Poetry Slam and has started Poetry, Prose and Pizza; a quarterly program. In addition, his other associations include the Young Audiences of Virginia, the Poetry Society of Virginia and the Advisory Council for the CNU Writers Conference.
