Works from a cast of hundreds set for view

    (AAPNW-OH) – On Friday, November 19, the opening of “Kaleidoscope 2010” goes on view with a public opening between 6:00-9:00 pm at Summit Artspace Gallery in Akron, Ohio. The show highlights member’s works of the Alliance for the Visual Arts, which make up over 500 working artists from the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, Women’s Art League, Akron Society of Artists and the Artists of Rubber City. The exhibition will remain on view through December 31.

     Other activities that are free and open to the public are the following Saturday demonstrations beginning on November 20, 1:00-3:00 pm with Jack Mulhollen, CVAC, “Painting a Landscape in Watercolor”; November 27, 1:00-4:00 pm, Mina Huang, ASA, “Painting a Still Life in Oil”; December 4,  1:00-3:00 pm, David Cordas, CVAC, “Painting a Landscape in Watercolor”; December 11, 1:00-3:00 pm, Barbara Lord, WAL, “Acrylic, Floral Painting”; and December 18, 1:00-3:00 pm, Carole Pollard, ARC, “Art Quilter, Graph Paper to Free Form Design.”

     During Akron’s “First Night” venue on December 31, the “Kaleidoscope Award” will be presented that was selected by popular vote of gallery visitors.  The recipient will receive a kaleidoscope designed and created by glass artist Bob Pozarski.
